Wellington-Dead Pig Road

This route is pretty accessible year-around and dries out quickly. Scoot out via Country Club before heading to the northernmost road on the route: Dead Pig Road.

The legend stands that a group of riders stumbled upon a giant, dead pig in the road. No fowl (foul?) play was suspected, but the name stuck. No one has seen a pig out there before or after that fateful day.

This route is a part of the 2024 FoCo Fondo Training Series (April- alternate long route due to weather).

The Stats:

  • Distance: 60 miles

  • Paved: 25%

  • Climbing: 1900 feet

Notes: It’s a fast course. North of town can be windy, especially in the shoulder seasons.

Refills: Me Oh My Pie (Laporte).

Tires: The WTB Vulpine 36 for speed or Vulpine 40 for pleasure.
